The meeting will be held at Palmer Commons on the University of Michigan central Ann Arbor campus. Guests can stay at a limited number of locations within walking distance. We have preferentially reserved local rooms for students and other guests who have limited travel funds. In most cases, we expect people to stay in the hotels near the Briarwood Mall complex, which is not within walking distance of campus. We will be running buses in the morning and evening to/from Palmer Commons and the Briarwood Hotels. Alternatively, you can call a cab or take the city bus 6 and 36. See here for the map and note that 36 does not operate on weekends. A single trip is $1.5, and the change is only returned with a fare card toward future trips. For those who wish to drive and park, there is plentiful parking next to Palmer Commons. Typical rate is $1.4 per hour. Free street parking 6 pm to 8 am, Mon. to Sat. All city parking is free on Sunday, as is most university parking space, unless otherwise specified. Campus Hotels (walking distance to the meeting and downtown) The Inn at the Michigan League 911 N. Detroit Metropolitan International Airport
(DTW) is only 20 miles from Ann Arbor, about a 30 minute drive.
Remember, airlines suggest arriving approximately 2 hours before your
flight. Detroit is a major hubs for Delta, but is served by essentially
all major airlines. For more information, call 734-AIR–PORT (247–7678). To get from the airport to Ann Arbor there are a number of taxi and limousine services you can choose from. Cab fare is approximately $60. Alternately, you can use AirRide,
a shuttle service between the airport, the kensington court (off-campus accommodations above), and the transit center in
downtown Ann Arbor. This service runs 13 times during the day and is
equipped with wireless internet service. A one way ticket on AirRide is
$15, however, if a reservation is made in advance the fare is reduced
to $12. The buses make a stop (kensington court) right in front of the off-campus accommodations recommended above. If you do not have too much baggage, the transit center is a reasonable walk from campus and on-campus hotels. Cabs
can get you around Ann Arbor, but keep in mind that we are not a big
city where you can hail a taxi at every corner. It is best to call at
least one hour ahead in order to make sure that you arrive at your
destination on time. There is also a reasonably extensive bus service. Finally, for those that use crowd-sourced taxis, both Uber and Lyft operate in Ann Arbor. Bus and Train to Ann Arbor
